Are you genuinely interested in how society works and current affairs. Do you enjoy listening to, discussing and debating different viewpoints, if so then sociology will suit you.
You will be expected to develop skills of analysis, interpretation and evaluation throughout the course. Essay writing is a main method of assessment and you will be expected to back up arguments with sociological evidence. This means you will need to be able to revise and recall research carried out by sociologists, theoretical explanations and concepts. If these sound like skills you have the potential to develop then Sociology could be for you.

Entry Requirements?

A grade 6 in GCSE Sociology.
If not previously studied a grade 5 in GCSE English.
