Each year Year 10 food technology students bake, marzipan, ice and decorate the most beautiful cakes celebrating Christmas
Green fingered Yr 7 and Yr 8 pupils with the help of one of Lincolnshire’s Master Gardener’s, Naomi, decide on what they would like to grow and use their produce to flavour, inspire and develop recipes.
These have recently included beetroot and chocolate muffins, squash lemon drizzle cake, flavoured Indian breads, vegetable stir fry with homemade crab apple chilli jelly.. The aim is not only for those students to understand how to grow herbs and vegetables successfully but for all classes to be able to pick and use the produce in their practical work throughout the year, emphasising seasonality and the thrill and benefits of using freshly picked produce.
