House Charity Day

Friday 14th February

This was the first time we have held a House Charity day and it proved to be extremely enjoyable and successful. The idea had come from the School Council, as they wanted to see more events where students in each House work together across all year groups.  The School has traditionally supported charities very well and this was seen as an event that everyone could be involved in and the proceeds could go to a worthy cause.

Each House chose a charity and a number of activities, games or items to sell. We saw many fundraising ideas including cakes, crafts, a tombola, guess the teddy’s name, a chocolate hamper, inflatable bowling, the batak board and basketball shooting.  In addition to this, the School Council organised a non-uniform day.

The amounts raised were as follows:

Curie

Marie Curie

£260.19

Johnson

RSPCA

£259.51

Nightingale

Little Princess Trust

£447.62

Pankhurst

Little Miracles

£281.60

Sharman

Cancer Research

£242.91

The grand total raised on the day was £1,491.82, which is fantastic.
