Our students' experience of art and design enriches their learning and achievement and develops their confidence, imagination and ability to develop ideas. Student work is displayed throughout the whole school, embedding our commitment to Art and further creating an inspirational environment within which the whole school benefits. Many extra-curricular activities are offered as part of our approach to engage young people creatively.
As a school, we have been awarded Artsmark Gold. This is an award created by the Arts Council of Great Britain, which provides a rigorous assessment of the level of Arts provision provided by an educational establishment. Our Gold Award recognises that both our students' work and our Arts provision are outstanding.
All students explore Fine Art which includes painting, printmaking, mixed media, film, animation, performance art, sculpture, photography, drawing and new technologies.
Drawing underpins everything that we do within a very rich and diverse art and design curriculum at the School. Students are given the opportunity to understand and explore the different forms and uses of drawing within each key stage and throughout their development as artists and designers.
