Assessment in PE

Assessment in PE

Students should use the assessment levels on the left hand side in order to assess their own performance against National Curriculum levels. The assessment levels can also be used to identify ways that students can improve their own performance and subsequently their own assessment level. An approximate guide to average assessment levels scored in PE is identified below:

 Old SHS levels
• By the end of Y7 the average assessment level is - 4b/4a
• By the end of Y8 the average assessment level is - 5c/5b
• By the end of Y9 the average assessment level is - 5a/6c

New SHS levels
• By the end of Y7 the average assessment level = 4/4a
• By the end of Y8 the average assessment level = 5/5a
• By the end of Y9 the average assessment level = 5a/6 (please note new sports such as trampolining, badminton and volleyball are introduced at Y9 for 1 unit only-hence progress maybe slower).
